Conformance & Packaging Waste Regulations

Are you aware that if you have an annual turnover of more than £2M, or handle more than 50 tonnes of packaging then you will more than likely be subject to the Packaging Waste Regulations?

Furthermore, if some of your packaging ends up in the UK waste stream you will be responsible for ensuring that a percentage of that waste is either recycled or recovered. There is some packaging material exclusion, which do not form part of this requirement.

Note: You do not have to personally recycle or recover the packaging yourself. This requirement can be achieved through obtaining Packaging Waste Recovery Notes (PRN’s).

At Turner Packaging we can assist you by ensuring you both fully understand and comply with the above directive by offering the following services:

  • A one to one meeting offering expert consultation on all aspects of the above directive.

  • Advice which will enable you to make an informed decision whether to join a Compliance scheme or go it alone.

  • Clear explanations on your exact data submission requirements.

  • Recommendations on how best to capture the required data i.e. How to adapt your present systems & procedures, software requirements etc.

  • Planned system / process audit ensuring compliance.

  • Completion of your annual data returns on your behalf.

Remember that these regulations are now a legal requirement, if affected you are required to abide by this directive. Don’t delay in ensuring compliance; contact Turner Packaging today and arrange an appointment with one of our consultants.

Note: Clarification on aspects of the Packaging Waste Regulations is available from the Environment Agencies explanatory notes.
